Warrior WIP

Here's my first attempt at highlighting the armor. A bit messy in places, but I'm learning! :)

I'm aiming for a decent tabletop standard so this will do. Just need to finish the rest of the model up and continue with the 9 other warriors.
Constructive criticism is always welcome!

New stuff incoming

I managed to find a webstore that stocked the discontinued Incubi models still, so I went ahead and ordered a box last night.
I ordered the Archon as well, and the Venom model will be available in early June. So after that I should be all set for my list that I have in mind (except for some more Raiders and an additional box of Wyches).

Pictures as promised

As I wrote in the previous post I have basecoated the armor of the warriors. I have done some more basecoating as you can see, and the wyches are now assembled and undercoated with chaos black.

I've started highlighting the warrior armor, but that will be a post for another time.

Some progress

Just a short update on the progress.
It's been really nice weather and I'm also building a play house for my kids so there hasn't been too much time spent on my Dark Eldar project. But I've managed to basecoat the armor of all warriors and the wyches are almost all assembled.
Pictures are coming when the Wyches are ready for undercoating.

Army list thoughts

I've been toying around a bit with different list setups and think I finally settled for one to go for. I decided to go for a 1k list instead of 750 since that opens up a few more possibilities.

I will ofcourse need to spend some more cash on models, but I will get some work done on the ones I have first.

Kabalite warriors assembled

I managed to get some spare time to finish assembling a unit of 10 Kabalite warriors with a Splinter cannon and a Blaster.
Next up is assembling the Wyches.

So, what is this all about?

Today my five month parental leave starts. Yay!
I've never had a 40k army, and I got a couple of friends that play, so I thought it would be a good idea to start out with a small army and Dark Eldar is the army of choice for me.
I don't have much experience with either side of the hobby, but this blog will be about my learning experience in both wargaming and assembling/painting an army. The blog is mainly for personal purpose, to document the progress with text and photos, but if anyone finds it remotely interesting, let me know!

So far I've got a box of Kabalite warriors, a box of Wyches and a Raider, to get a feel for assembling and painting the army. I will aim for a 750 pts list to start with since I have two kids and a wife, and I better spend some time with them as well. I haven't really set a list yet, but I'll make a future post with thoughts on that later on.

I've started assembling a warrior unit tonight and I'll try to finish it tomorrow and get some pictures up to get the project and this blog going.
